3 Spring tips for the home you need to do now.

Here in the UK, we are starting to see Spring on the way with tulips and sunny days. I tend to live seasonally in my home and I thought I’d share a few tips about what that means for me in the Spring time!

Have a Spring Clean

Sunny days will stream light into your house which seems to show up any dust or dirt! Particularly the windows. I use the change of season to have a deep clean of all the rooms in my house. I do this quite methodically and make a plan for each room following a declutter session at the beginning of the year. I take time to hoover under the sofa, wipe down the skirting boards and empty all the kitchen cupboards for cleaning.

Update your decor

During Autumn and Winter, I decorate my home with seasonal items such as deep coloured cushions and blankets as well as cosy lighting and candles. In the warmer months, I introduce flowers in each room. This doesn’t have to be expensive as I look for cheaper cheery blooms such as daffodils and tulips. I pack the winter blankets away and update the table cloth and coffee table books.

Enjoy the outdoor space

If you are lucky enough to have some outdoor space, take the time to enjoy it now the sun has arrived! I usually clean the patio furniture and chimnea ready for some garden fires in the evenings when there is still a slight chill in the air. It’s also a great time to tend to your garden and look for those Spring bulbs popping up!
