M1 – knit

M1 – knit
To make 1 new stitch on the knit side of the fabric, find the bar that runs between the stitches on each needle. Insert the tip of the left needle under the bar from front to back to place it on the left needle. Insert the right needle into the back loop of this thread (from front to back) and wrap the yarn anti-clockwise, pulling the loop to the front as a normal knit stitch. This increase creates 1 new stitch and is abbreviated as M1, or M1K.
