Here are four top yarn shops to check out in London.
Knit with attitude is a wonderful, independent knitting shop based in hip Stoke Newington. Here you can find beautiful yarns, tools, patterns, books and gifts. They offer knitting and craft classes as well as one-to-one sessions, which is great if you need a customised class. Every 3rd Thursday of the month they host a fab Knit Night where you can bring your latest project along, drink wine, eat snacks and get 10% off in the shop.
Loop can found in trendy Islington (the nearest tube stop is Angel) and sells gorgeous yarns, haberdashery, patterns, handmade gifts and inspiring knitting and crochet books. On top of this they run some great classes and their staff are a wealth of knitting and crochet knowledge!
Nest is the most adorable shop based in Crouch End. In fact, this is where I learnt to knit many moons ago! It’s full of beautiful yarns, fabrics, patterns and it has its very own library! Yes, that’s right, if you join up you can borrow craft books as well as purchase some yarn for your latest knitting project. Isn’t that just amazing! On top of this, they run courses, knitting groups and host parties.
Wild and Wooly is a super lovely shop that can be found on Lower Clapton Road in Hackney. They sell a great range of yarn, tools, books, kits, patterns and accessories. As well as offering knitting classes for all ages, they also have some pretty wonderful events too such as a junior knit club, yarn tasting, and a late night knitty lock-in!
