Today I wanted to share with you a super simple DIY Phone Case which doesn’t require any craft skills at all and uses something most women have or can easily get hold of – nail polish! Using nail polish as a craft supply is really cost effective and the range of colours can often be wider than paint. I have found it to be a durable supply for so many different projects.
To make this dotted phone case, you will need:
- Clear phone case
- Selection of nail polish colours
- Dotting tool (I got mine from eBay)
- Nail polish remover
- Rubbing alcohol (optional)
Begin by cleaning your phone case with some rubbing alcohol and a cloth. You can also wipe it clean with water and a paper towel. It just needs to be free of smudges and dust.
Next, pour a small amount of your first colour of nail polish into a paint palette. Dip the end of the dotting tool into the polish and onto the outside of the phone case. I repeated the small dots in lines across the case.
After I had covered a third of the phone case, I cleaned the end of the dotting tool with some nail polish remover and switched to the next colour. I repeated the dotted pattern until one-third of the case was left for a final colour. You could try any colour palette that suits you – I’m thinking of trying a glitter one soon.
Once your entire case is covered in dots, leave to dry for 24 hours. You can tidy any smudges with a cotton bud and some nail polish remover if you wish.
And there you have it! A personalised phone case that takes less than 30 minutes to make! I have tonnes more ideas for phone cases, so be sure to let me know if you’d like to see them.
