Changing Seasons: Autumn

Changing seasons - autumn (1)

I’m a big fan of autumn. I love wrapping up in homemade scarves and jumpers and wearing those deeper, warm autumnal colours of mustard, claret red and burnt orange. I also love popping on my brown brogues, going for a walk through all those crunchy leaves and coming home for a warming cup of tea and a spot of knitting.

Having a change in season is like wiping the slate clean. Out come those different clothes, seasonal recipes and activities and with autumn definitely here, I thought I’d share some of my favourite things to do this season.

Seasonal recipes / cook up a hearty stew, with some homemade bread to share with friends and family.

Hot chocolate and a good film / head to the local, independent cinema to watch a good film, while supping on some warming hot chocolate.

National trust houses / with the days getting cooler, it’s a great time to go and look at beautiful, old houses. It means you get out and about, without getting cold!

Blue sky days / on those bright, autumn days, I love to head off into the countryside for a walk, followed by a scrummy roast dinner back home.

Craft parties / getting together with your friends to knit and crochet, while supping on tea and eating homemade cake is always fun!
